Passed your test and bought your bike, now get the best out of it.
Here at Easy Rider we are part of the Bike Plus scheme to help further develop the skills of new riders and of course enhance and refresh the skills of bikers returning to riding.
‘Bike Plus’ is a scheme introduced by Derbyshire County Council aiming to help newly qualified and inexperienced riders improve their safety once they take to the road.
The scheme was launched in January 2005, and is the first of its kind in England to offer a subsidised post test development course for bikers’.
Like the Driving Standards Agency's (DSA) Pass Plus for drivers, ‘Bike Plus’ offers post-test guidance to people who have passed their bike test, or those who are returning to riding after an absence.
Qualified instructors work with bikers, on a maximum 2:1 ratio, to develop their riding skills and improve their awareness of potential hazards on the road. This type of training usually costs around £150 – but bikers living in Derbyshire and neighbouring counties can enroll for as little as £50 with Easy Rider thanks to the Derbyshire County Council discount.
All subsidies/discounts are subject to availability of funding and may not always be available.
The on-road training covers:
The course is given by fully qualified motorcycle instructors, registered and approved by the DSA, who have registered to take part in the scheme and agreed to an additional code of conduct.
Bikers continue to be over represented in road accident casualty figures both nationally and locally. ‘Bike Plus’ is a practical initiative offering potentially long-term benefits to the safety of riders.

Here at Easy Rider, we are glad to help.
Do you want to lead by example and set the standard on your ride-outs? Tired of having square tyres? Then our Advanced Training Course is your solution. Join us on our Advance riding course and get the best out of your bike, let your riding speak for itself instead of your mates doing all the talking.
Once you have passed your motorcycle test and have your motorbike of choice, you go out and experience the joy and challenge of riding regularly, developing your own individual style of riding. Unfortunately, quite often we start to pick up bad habits along the way.
We are here to hopefully, further develop your style, identify any problems that may have arisen, why you have them and how to rectify them. Improving your road skills to help you become a better, safer and more efficient biker!
In other words, advanced motorcycling is a skill that any rider can learn, it is simply a matter of having the correct guidance and help. We tailor every course to suit the individual. This could be to:
Whatever your needs we are here to help you build, develop and expand your skills. By identifying any problem areas and demonstrating techniques that are used by many riders to enable you to become the best rider you can be.
These courses are run as an enjoyable ride out. We always advise you to ride at a speed with which you feel comfortable. As your skills are improved throughout the day, your confidence will increase enabling you to deal with any hazards along the way, increasing your speed (within the permitted limits) and gain even greater enjoyment from your biking experience.
We often advise that the Bike Plus Scheme is taken advantage of to introduce you to advanced motorcycle training. This scheme is subsidised by Derbyshire County Council, thereby giving you a fabulous opportunity to experience this type of training at a reduced cost.
