Older, wiser, steadier, rode a bike years ago, who would have thought you were in one of the most "at risk" biker categories. Each year an increasing number of people who rode bikes when they were in their late teens or 20's are now returning to biking.

Sadly, There are now a high number of these riders who end up seriously or fatally injured as their rusty skills are no match for today's high powered superbikes.

So how can you avoid becoming one of these statistics?

Riding a motorbike is not intrinsically dangerous, if it is done correctly. It is a cliche but there is a right and a wrong way to do anything. Nobody is born with the innate instinct to ride to the highest standards.

If you are reading this it means you have at least recognized you are not infallible. If you are returning to riding a motorcycle after a period away from two wheels the chances are you could well have a family, more responsibility to other people, so you owe it to them to ensure that your riding skills are up to scratch. - Especially if you are planning to involve a partner in your re-acquaintence with life on two wheels.

When you are an adult, training of any type can seem daunting, a necessary evil on the way to obtaining a qualification.

In practice however, most of our students enjoy the whole experience so much, they often go on to take further training, join us on ride outs or at least call in on us at the training site to show us their new bike or just to say Hi.
